If vx and vy be the magnitude of rectangular components of the velocity vector \vec v, then v_x^2 + v_y^2 = {v^2}\
\therefore {v_y} = \sqrt {{v^2} - v_x^2} = \sqrt {{{20}^2} - {{10}^2}} m/s = 10\sqrt 3 m/s
