Magnetic properties of materials

Question

Paramagnetic sample shows a net magnetisation of  4A/m ,  when placed in an external magnetic field of 0.3T  at a temperature of 8K. When the same sample is placed in an external magnetic field of 0.4T at a temperature of  4K, the magnetisation will be p3(A/m). Find p

Moderate
Solution

As Curie’s law explains, we can deduce a formula for the relation between magnetic field induction temperature and magnetisation

I BTI2I1=B2B1×T1T2

                              Put I1=4A/m , B1=0.3T ,  T1=8K I2=? ,  B2=0.4T ,  T2=4K

I24=0.40.3×84I2=43×2×4=323(A/m)
