Solution

Work done against gravitational force = Change in PE
$= 0 - (- \frac{GMm}{R}) = \frac{GMm}{R} = \frac{(6 .67 \times 10^{- 11}) (100) (10 \times 10^{- 3})}{(0 .1)}$
= 6.67 x 10^-10 J
