The two types of acceleration
Question

A particle moves along a circle of radius 20πm with constant tangential acceleration. It the velocity of the particle is 80 m/s at the end of the second revolution after motion has begun, the tangential acceleration is

Easy
Solution

In case of circular motion,

ω2−ω02=2αθ âˆµv2−u2=2as

ω2=2αθ âˆµÏ‰0=0or      vr2=2arθ (∵a=rα)or      a=V22rθ

Given that r = (20/π) metre, V = 80 m/s and θ = 4π radian.

Substituting these values, we get

a=40m/s2
