$Average speed = \frac{x}{t_{1} + t_{2}} = \frac{x}{\frac{x}{4 \times 5} + \frac{3 x}{4 \times 18}} = \frac{1}{\frac{1}{20} + \frac{1}{24}} = \frac{24 \times 20}{20 + 24} = \frac{480}{44} = 10 .9 m / s$
