Effective voltage in circuit $(E) = E_{1} - E_{2} = 10 V$
$∵ C_{s} = \frac{C_{1} C_{2}}{C_{1} + C_{2}} = 1 .2 μF \begin{array}{l} ∴ Q = Charge on capacitors = C_{s} V \\ = 1 .2 μF \times 10 V \\ = 12 μC \end{array} ∴ P.D. across P and Q = \frac{12 uC}{12 uF} = 6 V .$
