Solution

For a dipole $E = \frac{1}{4 {πε}_{0} r^{3}} \times p \sqrt{(1 + 3 \cos^{2} θ)}$
$∴ E_{a} = \frac{2 p}{4 {πε}_{0} r^{3}} (∵ θ = 0)$
and $E_{e} = \frac{p}{4 {πε}_{0} r^{3}} (∵ θ = 90)$
$∴ \frac{E_{a}}{E_{e}} = 2 : 1$
