In a meter bridge null deflection occurs at balancing state of Wheatstone bridge for which we use
$\begin{array}{l} \frac{10}{R} = \frac{A C}{C B} \\ \Rightarrow R = 10 (\frac{C B}{A C}) = (10) (\frac{100 - 40}{40}) = 10 (\frac{60}{40}) \\ \Rightarrow R = 15 Ω \end{array}$
