Solution

$n \propto (\frac{1}{D}) where D = diameter n_{1} \propto \frac{1}{D} and n_{2} \propto \frac{1}{3 D} ∴ \frac{n_{2}}{n_{1}} = \frac{1}{3} or n_{2} = \frac{n_{1}}{3} = \frac{n}{3}$
