Mass defect $= 4 \times 4 \cdot 0026 - 15 \cdot 994$
$= 0 \cdot 011$
$E = {Δmc}^{2} = 0 \cdot 011 \times 931 = 10 \cdot 24 MeV$
So, energy released by oxygen nuclei is 10 .24 MeV.
