The sum of magnitudes of two forces is $16 N$ . If their resultant is normal to the smaller force and has a magnitude of $8 N$ , then two forces are

Solution

A+B=16
$B \sin θ = A$
And $B \cos θ = 8$
Squaring and adding these two equations, we get
$B^{2} = A^{2} + 64$
$A = 6 N$ and $B = 10 N$
