A tap supplies water at 10°C and another tap at 100°C. How must hot water must be taken so that we get 20 kg water at 35°C ?

Solution

m(100 -35)x1 = (20-m) (35-10)x1
or 65m= 500 - 25m
or 90m = 500
$∴ m = \frac{500}{90} \approx 5 .6 kg$
