Solution

$M' = \sqrt{M^{2} + 4 M^{2} + 2.2 M . M \cos 120^{o}} (∵ \cos 120^{o} = - \frac{1}{2}) M' = \sqrt{5 M^{2} - 2 M^{2}} = \sqrt{3} M$
