Solution

Acceleration of train $= \frac{6 \times 10^{4}}{60 \times 4000} m / s^{2}$
Tension in the coupling between 40^th and 41^st compartment $= (20 \times 4000) [\frac{6 \times 10^{4}}{60 \times 4000}] = 2 \times 10^{4} N$
