AC current gain $β$ is defined as the ratio of the change in collector to the change in base current at constant collector voltage,
$β = {(\frac{∆ i_{C}}{∆ i_{B}})}_{Vc} Given ∆ i_{C} = 10 mA - 5 mA = 5 mA ∆ i_{B} = 150 μA - 100 μA = 50 μA ∴ β = \frac{5 mA}{50 \times 10^{- 3} mA} = 100$
