Solution

$f r o m w e a k e r m a g n e t = x = \frac{d}{{(\frac{M_{2}}{M_{1}})}^{\frac{1}{3}} + 1} = \frac{40}{\frac{3}{2} + 1} = 16 c m; f r o m l a r g e r m a g n e t = 40 - 16 = 24 c m$
