Two thermometers are constructed in the same way except that, one has a spherical bulb and the other a  cylindrical bulb. Which one will respond quicker to temperature change ?

For a given volume, a cylinder has more surface area than a sphere. As rate of heat conduction is proportional to surface area, the thermometer with cylindrical bulbresponds more quickly.
