Two waves are given by $y_{1} = asin (ωt - kx)$ and $y_{2} = acos (ω t - kx)$ . The phase difference between the two waves is

Solution

$y_{1} = asin (ωt - kx)$
and $y_{2} = acos (ωt - kx) = asin (ω t - kx + \frac{π}{2})$
Hence phase difference between these two is $\frac{π}{2}$ .
