The velocities of two particles A and B of same mass are VA = ai   and VB = bj where a and b are constants. The acceleration of particle A is (2ai+4bj) and acceleration of particle B is (ai-bj)(in m/s2). The centre of mass of two particle will move in:

Vcom = m1V1+m2V2 m1+m2 = V1+V22 = ai+bj2

acom = a1+a22 = 32(ai+bj)

Vcom is parallel to acom. Hence path will be straight line.
