Instantaneous acceleration

Question

The velocity of a body moving in a straight line is given by V = ( $3 x^{2}$ + x)m/s. Find acceleration at
x = 1m.

Solution

$v = 3 x^{2} + x$
$∴ v (x = 1) = 4 m s^{- 1}$
$\frac{d v}{d t} = 6 x . \frac{d x}{d t} + \frac{d x}{d t} = 6 \times 1 \times 4 + 4$
$= 28 m s^{- 2}$
