The velocity of a particle at an instant is 10 ms^-1. After 3 s its velocity will become 16 ms^-1. The velocity at 2 s, before the given instant would have been:

Solution

For 2nd part 10 m/s is initial velocity.
Hence 16=10+a(3)
$\Rightarrow$ a = 2m/s²
For 1st part 10 m/s is final velocity
10 = u+2 x 2
u = 6m/s
