When a body of density and volume V is floating in a liquid of density σ :
(i) its true weight is
(ii) loss in its weight is
(iii) its apparent weight is zero
(iv) its density is lesser than that of liquid σ
When a body of density ρ and volume V is floating in a liquid of density σ than buoyant force acts on it in upward direction and mg in downward direction. here as body is floating it means buoyant force completely balances mg so its apparent weight would be zero.
