For a spring F =-k x and F =m g
m g = - k x
$o r k = (m g / x) magnitude o r k = \frac{1 \times 10}{(5 / 100)} = 200 N / m T h e a n g u l a r f r e q u e n c y o f o s c i l l a t i o n o f 2 k g m a s s i s g i v e n b y ω = \sqrt{(\frac{k}{m})} = \sqrt{(\frac{200}{2})} = 10 r a d / s e c Now v_{max} = ω a = 10 \times 0 \cdot 1 = 1 m / s$
