\large \frac{{{e_{AC}}}}{{{e_{AD}}}} = \frac{{AC}}{{AD}} \Rightarrow \frac{{0.3}}{{0.5}} = \frac{x}{{40 + x}}
\large \Rightarrow 3(40 + x) = 5x
\large \Rightarrow 120 + 3x = 5x
\large 2x = 120 \Rightarrow x = 60cm
\large AD = x + 40 = 100cm
