Question

With what velocity (in m/s) must an electron travel so that its momentum is equal to that of photon with a wavelength of λ=5200

Moderate
Solution

Momentum of photon p=hλ=6.626×10345200×1010kgm/s Momentum of electron =mv=9.1×1031v

where v is the velocity of electron.
Equating the two momenta, we have.

9.1×1031v=6.626×1034/5200×1010v=1400m/s
