The chondrocytes of connective tissue are

Chondroblasts are the only cells found in cartilage. They produce and maintain the cartilaginous matrix. These cells become inactive chondrocytes  found in lacunae .It is found in the epiglottis (part of the larynx) and the pinnae (the external ear) of many mammals including humans).
