Detailed Solution
In cortical nephrons, loops of Henle are short and vasa recta are absent or poorly developed. In juxtamedullary nephrons, loops of Henle are long and vasa recta are well-developed. In juxtamedullary nephrons, Malpighian corpuscles are located in the inner cortex (not medulla). Majority of nephrons (about 80%) are cortical nephrons (not juxtamedullary). Cortical nephrons have short loops of Henle.
