Human Respiratory System
Question

Select the correct statement about the thoracic chamber.

Easy
Solution

The thoracic chamber is bounded dorsally by the vertebral column, ventrally by the sternum, laterally by the ribs and on the lower side by the dome-shaped diaphragm. The diaphragm separates the thoracic cavity from the abdominal cavity. The volume of the thoracic cavity can be changed and any change in the volume of the thoracic cavity will be reflected in the lung (pulmonary) cavity. The thoracic cavity lodges the lungs and the heart but not the kidneys.
