Question

The transporter protein incorporated into the plasma membrane by the action of insulin is

Moderate
Solution

Glucose transporters are membrane proteins that facilitate the transport of glucose across the plasma membrane. GLUT4 is stored in the cell in transport vesicles, and is quickly incorporated into the plasma membrane of the cell (skeletal muscle cells, cardiomyocytes and adipocytes) when insulin binds its membrane receptors.
