Question

Which of the following pairs of hormones are antagonistic to each other?

Moderate
Solution

The hormones that have opposite actions are called antagonistic hormones. Insulin (hypoglycemic hormone) and glucagon (hyperglycemic hormone) are antagonistic hormones. Epinephrine and norepinephrine are similar to each other in their functions. The same is the case with triiodothyronine and tetraiodothyronine. Thyrocalcitonin is antagonistic to parathormone; it is not antagonistic to thyroxine.
