I band consists of thin(actin) filaments which are held firmly by the Z lines.
A band consists of both the thick(myosin) and thin(actin filaments). Thick filaments are held by thick fibrous M line. The central part of thick filament, not overlapped by thin filaments is called the ‘H’ zone.
