Solution

Bicuspid or mitral valve guards the opening between the left atrium and the left ventricle. Flow of oxygenated blood is regulated by this valve. Closure of AV valves (both tricuspid and bicuspid valves) cause the LUB sound.
Closure of semilunar valves is associated with the DUB sound.
