Potential difference across the $4 Ω$ resistance $= 1.2 \times 4 = 4.8 V$
Potential difference across the $8 Ω$ resistance =4.8V

$i_{2} = \frac{4.8}{8} = 0.6 A$
$\begin{array}{l} ∴ i = i_{1} + i_{2} = 1.2 + 0.6 \\ \Rightarrow i = 1.8 A \\ ∴ V_{B C} = 2 \times 1.8 = 3.6 V \end{array}$
