detailed solution

Correct option is A

Given that a particle is moving in a straight line.

Let us evaluate the given options

Option (a) it is true because when velocity and acceleration are opposite to each other the velocity of the body gradually decreases and body will slow down.

Option (b) it is true because position and velocity of a body are given to be depending on each other such that velocity is opposite to the position. i.e. if position gained is 3 units from origin then body will gain velocity – 3 units.

Finally position will be zero then velocity will become zero. Therefore the body will reach origin.

Option (c) it is not true because when velocity of a body becomes zero we can say certainly that acceleration is also zero.

Option (d) it is true because if velocity of a particle is said to be zero in an interval then body is completely remained in rest position so obviously acceleration will become zero
