Detailed Solution

To calculate percentile in NEET 2025, you need to use a simple formula based on your rank and the total number of candidates who appeared for the exam.

The formula for NEET percentile calculation is:

NEET Percentile = [(Total Candidates - Your Rank) / Total Candidates] × 100

For example, if 20 lakh students appeared for NEET 2025 and your rank is 5,000:

NEET Percentile = [(20,00,000 - 5,000) / 20,00,000] × 100 = 99.75 percentile.

Alternatively, NTA also releases percentile scores based on your marks and the highest marks scored by any student using this formula:

NEET Percentile = (Your Marks / Topper's Marks) × 100

For example, if you score 650 marks and the topper scored 715 marks:

NEET Percentile = (650 / 715) × 100 ≈ 90.91 percentile.

Why NEET percentile is important?

  • Percentile shows your performance compared to others.
  • Helps in preparing All India Rank list.
  • Used for category-wise qualifying cutoffs.
  • Required for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPT, BSc Nursing admissions.
