Deleted Class 11 Topics for NEET 2026 Chemistry

Physical Chemistry

• Chemical Thermodynamics: truncated — “Third law of thermodynamics” and detailed enthalpy change derivations deleted.

Inorganic Chemistry

• Hydrogen: complete unit removed from syllabus.
• s-Block Elements: removed entirely (included in CBSE deletions and reflected in NMC 2025 update).
• Some p-Block Elements: minor trimming, especially in descriptive subtopics (atomic numbers, isotopes, and general trends).

Organic Chemistry

• Environmental Chemistry: deleted completely.
• Qualitative practical-based subtopics in Organic Chemistry – Some Basic Principles and Techniques reduced — fewer details on purification methods.

Topics Retained and Still Covered

• Core foundations such as Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Classification of Elements, Equilibrium, and Redox Reactions remain unchanged.
• Organic Chemistry basics (IUPAC naming, hybridization, isomerism, reaction mechanisms) are still included and crucial for advanced Chapters in Class 12.

Additions or Updates

There are no new Class 11 topics officially announced for NEET 2026 Chemistry. However, emphasis has shifted toward application-based questions from stoichiometry, redox, and binding structure—aligning NEET more closely with NCERT competency-based learning outcomes.
