Detailed Solution

Carl Linnaeus is known as the father of modern classification. He was a Swedish scientist who introduced a proper system to name and classify living organisms. This system is called binomial nomenclature. In this system, each organism has a scientific name made of two words: the genus and the species.

For example, the scientific name of a human is Homo sapiens. Linnaeus grouped living beings into categories based on shared features. His system helped scientists all over the world communicate clearly about plants and animals.

Carl Linnaeus’s classification system is still used today, with some changes and additions made by modern scientists. It is the foundation of taxonomy, the science of naming and grouping organisms.
