    Chapter 4: Mann Karta Hai

    Surendra Vikram expresses wishes for all the things he could be in this poetry. The poet’s wishes are to be the sun, moon, father, father-grandfather, bird, butterfly, and, most of all, a young boy flying a brightly coloured kite.

    Chapter 5: Bahadur Bitto

    Punjabi folktale Bahadur Bitto tells the story of a peasant’s wife. It demonstrates how her courage came to the rescue.

    Chapter 6: Humse Sab Kehte

    The poem elaborates on a child’s grievances over the ways in which natural phenomena function and the various self-imposed restrictions that adults have imposed. Why are individuals unable to do so many things, whereas air, sunlight, and moonlight are unstoppable? The child thinks he is being punished or that he cannot play or give toys to anyone.
