Simple Rules of Subject-Verb Agreement 

Singular subject → Singular verb
If one person or thing is doing the action, the verb ends with -s or -es.

  • He reads every morning.

Plural subject → Plural verb
When more than one person or thing is doing something, the verb does not end with -s.
