With the tentative Session 1 dates published, how much of your preparation needs to be completed before the window begins? The National Testing Agency’s tentative examination calendar gives you a date range to work back from when allocating time to unfinished chapters and revision. Registration needs a separate place in that plan because the examination announcement does not establish when applications open or close. The application window, admit card release, and results still require their own announcements.
JEE Main, conducted by NTA, has followed a two-session format in recent years. This guide brings together the published Session 1 dates published and the expected Session 2 dates based on the previous examination cycle. Each stage is labeled so that a planning estimate does not become a mistaken deadline on your calendar.
For Session 1, the published tentative calendar lists two date groups: January 22–24 and January 28–30, 2027. It also sets aside January 31 as a buffer date. NTA’s calendar remains subject to revision, so candidates need to follow subsequent notices.
April remains the expected month for Session 2 based on the previous cycle. NTA’s published examination calendar, which currently covers exams through March 2027, does not include the JEE Main 2027 Session 2 dates.
Under the JEE Main 2026 examination format:
For the examination format and eligibility rules applicable to JEE Main 2027, refer to the 2027 Information Bulletin once it is published. Class 12 passing years, required subjects, and provisions for appearing candidates will need to be checked against the 2027 rules. Admission requirements must still be met even when a candidate qualifies to take JEE Main.
Start checking for the application notice during October–November 2026, based on the timing of recent JEE Main cycles. The published calendar covers tentative examination dates; it neither opens the application form nor specifies when submissions close.
| Event | Status/Expected gt |
| Examination calendar | Published on September 16, 2026 |
| Detailed information bulletin | October–November 2026, estimated |
| Registration window opens | October–November 2026, estimated |
| Last date to apply and pay fee | November 2026, estimated |
| Admit card release | January 2027, estimated |
| Session 1 - Exam dates | January 22–24 and January 28–30, 2027, tentative dates published by NTA |
| Buffer date | January 31, 2027, published by NTA |
| Result declaration | February 2027 for Paper 1, estimated; Paper 2 may follow separately |
Only the Session 1 examination dates and buffer date in the table above are taken from NTA’s September 16, 2026 examination calendar. All other dates remain estimates until NTA issues the relevant notices.

Each candidate will receive an assigned date, shift, and test center. The wider examination window does not require every applicant to attend on every listed day.
The previous examination cycle provides a planning reference for Session 2. Begin checking for registration notices by late January rather than waiting until the expected April examination period.

These are projected windows, not an announced Session 2 schedule. Application submission and payment deadlines need individual checking when NTA publishes the notice.
| Event | Expected Timeframe |
| Registration opens | Late January–February 2027 |
| Application deadline | February–March 2027 |
| Admit card release | Late March–April 2027 |
| Session 2 exam | April 2027 |
| Paper 1 result | April 2027 |
| Paper 2 result | April–May 2027 |
The Session 1 calendar does not establish either release date. Separate notices will cover examination-city information, admit cards, and results.
A city-intimation slip helps with travel arrangements but does not replace the admit card. Once released, download your admit card from the official JEE Main website and review the exam date, shift, test center, reporting time, and candidate instructions carefully.
Check both NTA’s main website and the official JEE Main website. A broader examination calendar and a detailed application notice may appear at different times.

Before relying on a date shared through social media, coaching channels, or messaging apps, verify it against the corresponding NTA notice. Confirm the year and session first. A genuine document from an earlier cycle is still unsuitable for establishing a 2027 deadline.
If an official alert facility becomes available, use it as a reminder to check the notice itself. Do not assume that an email or message will arrive before every deadline. Keep the application confirmation page and payment record somewhere accessible after registration.
Work backward from the published tentative Session 1 dates to plan revision. Continue using the latest official syllabus available, then review any changes when the JEE 2027 syllabus is published.
Prepare documents without assuming that last year’s upload specifications will remain unchanged:
Check Class 12 passing-year requirements and attempt eligibility separately when the 2027 Information Bulletin is released. Resolve them through the 2027 instructions rather than another candidate’s experience.
Leave time for payment or document problems once the form opens. A possible extension is not a dependable backup.
Knowing the examination window leaves a more immediate question: which part of the syllabus needs your attention today? Our JEE courses provide teaching and practice, while test options help review topics already covered. Discuss your current syllabus progress before selecting a package.
Confirm which features accompany your chosen package and how the teaching schedule fits school commitments. Ask separately about application guidance and update channels; registration decisions must follow NTA’s official instructions.
Plan revision around the published tentative Session 1 dates, while keeping unconfirmed application and result windows clearly marked. Session 2 remains a projected timeline until its official schedule appears.

Yes. NTA’s tentative examination calendar lists JEE Main 2027 Session 1 for January 22–24 and January 28–30, 2027, with January 31 reserved as a buffer date. These dates are tentative and may change. Registration, admit card, city intimation and other examination-specific details will be announced separately.
NTA has published a tentative examination calendar for Session 1, but the detailed JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin and registration notice are still awaited. Based on recent cycles, they may be released during October–November 2026, but NTA has not confirmed a publication date.
Two sessions are expected based on recent cycles. The published calendar covers Session 1; the complete session arrangements need confirmation in the relevant 2027 notices.
Visit NTA’s website for the calendar and the JEE Main website for examination-specific instructions. Continue checking after the bulletin appears because later notices may revise individual deadlines.
Ask our team which communication channels and application support accompany your course. Match any shared date to the official NTA notice before recording it as a deadline.
