The Re NEET 2026 qualifying marks are the minimum marks needed to pass the exam. These marks are released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) along with the Re NEET 2026 result. The qualifying marks are different for each category, such as General, SC, ST, OBC and PwD.
A candidate must score equal to or more than the required Re NEET cutoff 2026 for their category to become eligible for the counselling process. However, qualifying the exam does not mean confirmed admission to a medical college. The Re NEET admission cutoff is different from the qualifying cutoff and is usually much higher, especially for government medical colleges.
Several factors affect the category-wise Re NEET qualifying marks, including the difficulty level of the paper, the number of candidates appearing in the exam, reservation rules and seat availability. This year, around 22.79 lakh candidates have registered, which may also play an important role in deciding the cutoff range.
The Re NEET qualifying marks are the minimum marks required to clear the exam. These marks are based on the qualifying percentile fixed for each category.
For example, the General category usually needs to meet the 50th percentile, while SC, ST and OBC categories need to meet the 40th percentile. PwD candidates have a separate qualifying percentile depending on their category.
A candidate who scores equal to or above the required marks is considered qualified for Re NEET. Such candidates can take part in the counselling process for medical courses like MBBS, BDS and other related programmes.
NTA will announce the official Re NEET 2026 cutoff after the result is declared. Until then, the expected marks can help candidates understand the possible score range.

Many candidates get confused between the Re NEET qualifying marks and the Re NEET admission cutoff. Both are different and have separate purposes.
Qualifying marks only decide whether a candidate has passed the exam or not. Admission cutoff decides whether a candidate can get a seat in a particular medical college.

For example, a General category candidate may qualify Re NEET with around 170 marks if it falls within the qualifying range. But this score may not be enough to get admission to an MBBS seat in a government medical college. Government colleges usually have higher admission cutoffs because of limited seats and high competition.
