For the academic session 2025-26, the NCERT has introduced a new textbook named ‘Malhar’ (मल्हार) for Class 8 Hindi. This rationalized textbook replaces the older books Vasant, Durva, and Bharat Ki Khoj in all schools following the updated CBSE curriculum.
Yes, for most CBSE schools, Vasant Bhag 3 has been discontinued and replaced by Malhar. However, some State Boards (like MP Board or UP Board) and schools in a transition phase may still continue using Vasant for one more year. Please check with your school teachers to confirm.
The new Class 8 Hindi Malhar textbook contains a total of 10 Chapters. It is a mix of poetry (Kavita), stories (Kahani), and one-act plays (Ekanki), starting with the poem 'Svadesh' and ending with 'Tarun Ke Swapn'.
Students can download the Class 8 Hindi Malhar Solutions PDF for free from Infinity Learn. We provide chapter-wise answers, summaries, and word meanings (Shabdarth) for all 10 chapters, which you can use for offline study.
Yes, the Malhar textbook integrates grammar exercises at the end of every chapter. Important Class 8 Grammar topics include Sandhi (Joining words), Vilom Shabd (Antonyms), Muhavare (Idioms), and Patra Lekhan (Letter Writing). Our solutions cover all these grammar sections.
Vasant was a literature-heavy book with 18 chapters, focusing on older classic Hindi writings. Malhar is a modern, competency-based book with only 10 chapters. It focuses more on critical thinking, real-life values, and aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
While all chapters are important, historically, poetry chapters like 'Svadesh' and 'Kabeer Ke Dohe' and stories like 'Do Gauraiya' carry high weightage in exams. Students should prepare the Summaries (Saar) and Character Sketches for these chapters thoroughly.
These NCERT Solutions are designed by expert teachers specifically to help students with their daily homework. The answers are accurate, simple, and follow the CBSE marking scheme, making them perfect for school assignments.
