No, IIT is not free of cost after JEE. Clearing JEE Advanced only gives you admission eligibility; students still need to pay tuition and hostel fees. Many students believe that cracking JEE means free education, but that’s not true. However, SC/ST/PwD students do not need to pay tuition fees, which makes it close to free for them. 

Also, students from families with income below ₹1 lakh per year get full tuition fee waivers. So, while IITs are not completely free, they provide strong financial aid options for deserving candidates.
