What is Passive Voice?

In Passive Voice, the subject receives the action.
The focus is on what happens or who the action is done to, not on who does it.

Formula: Object + “to be” verb + Past Participle + by + Subject

Examples:

  • The ball is kicked by Amal.
  • The lesson is explained by the teacher.
  • The car is cleaned by my brother.
  • (Here, the action is happening to the subject.)
