JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Answer Key will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after the April session exams are over. This page covers the official answer key for all 5 exam dates — April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8 — for both Shift 1 and Shift 2.
NTA releases two types of answer keys — provisional and final. The provisional answer key comes out within 2 to 3 days after the last exam date. Students can challenge incorrect answers during the objection window. After reviewing all objections, NTA releases the final answer key, which is used to calculate the result.
NTA conducted the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) exam on April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8, 2026. Each date has two shifts — Shift 1 (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and Shift 2 (3:00 PM to 6:00 PM).
Check the answer key status for your exam date below.
| Exam Date | Resources |
| April 2 | JEE Main 2026 April 2 Answer Key |
| April 4 | JEE Main 2026 April 4 Answer Key |
| April 5 | JEE Main 2026 April 5 Answer Key |
| April 6 | JEE Main 2026 April 6 Answer Key |
| April 8 | JEE Main 2026 April 8 Answer Key |
The official answer key PDF will be available for download from jeemain.nta.nic.in after login. Along with the answer key, NTA also releases the response sheet, which shows the options you marked during the exam.
Many students confuse the provisional answer key with the final answer key. Here is a clear breakdown.
The provisional answer key is released first — usually within 2 to 3 days after the exam ends. This is a draft version. It contains the correct answers as per NTA, but it can be challenged by students if they believe any answer is wrong.
The final answer key is released after NTA reviews all objections submitted by candidates. This version is binding. The JEE Main 2026 result and percentile scores will be calculated based only on the final answer key.

Based on Session 1 trends and NTA's standard timeline, the Session 2 answer key dates are expected as follows:
| Event | Expected Date |
| Last exam date (Session 2) | 8 April 2026 |
| Provisional answer key release | 10 – 12 April 2026 |
| Objection / challenge window | 10 – 12 April 2026 |
| Final answer key release | 14 – 16 April 2026 |
| Session 2 result declaration | On or before 20 April 2026 |
These dates are based on previous year patterns. Official dates will be updated as soon as NTA announces them.

Follow these steps to download the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 answer key from the official website.
Save both files. You will need your response sheet to cross-check each answer against the answer key.
If you believe any answer in the provisional answer key is incorrect, you can raise an objection through the official portal. Here is how to do it.
All objections are reviewed by NTA subject experts. If a question is found to be incorrect or ambiguous, NTA either drops the question entirely or assigns marks to all candidates. The final answer key is updated accordingly.

Once the answer key is out, you can estimate your score before the official result is declared. Use the marking scheme below.
| Answer Type | Marks |
| Correct answer (MCQ) | +4 marks |
| Wrong answer (MCQ) | –1 mark |
| Unattempted question | 0 marks |
| Correct answer (Numerical) | +4 marks |
| Wrong answer (Numerical) | 0 marks |
To calculate your estimated score, download your response sheet from the portal. Match each of your answers against the answer key. Add +4 for every correct answer and subtract 1 for every wrong MCQ. Numerical questions carry no negative marking.
The total paper has 90 questions across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, out of which 75 must be attempted. The maximum marks for Paper 1 are 300.
NTA follows a fixed sequence after the exams end. The provisional answer key comes first, followed by the objection window, the final key, and then the result.
The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 result is expected on or before April 20, 2026. This result will carry the NTA scores, subject-wise percentile, and overall percentile. All India Rank (AIR) and JEE Advanced cutoff will be declared only after Session 2 results — not after Session 1.
Students who appeared in both sessions will have their best NTA score considered for the final rank.
The paper analysis for each exam date will be updated here as the exams are conducted. This will include the overall difficulty level, subject-wise analysis, and topics that appeared frequently.
