NCERT Class 12 Physics is divided into two textbooks, Physics Part I and Physics Part II, covering 14 chapters from electrostatics and current electricity to optics, nuclear physics and semiconductor electronics. Students preparing for the CBSE Class 12 board examination can use these textbooks alongside the prescribed 2026-27 syllabus.
This page provides the Class 12 Physics chapter list and access to PDF resources for both parts. NCERT Physics also provides useful conceptual preparation for entrance examinations such as JEE Main and NEET, although competitive exams require additional numerical practice and problem-solving beyond the NCERT textbook.
NCERT Class 12 Physics Books are available in PDF format, allowing students to access and study them anytime and from anywhere. These textbooks are carefully developed by experienced subject experts and provide clear, reliable coverage of the Class 12 Physics syllabus.

The official CBSE 2026-27 Physics theory paper is worth 70 marks. The unit-wise marks distribution is structured as follows:
| Unit | Chapters | Marks |
| Units I–II | Electric Charges and Fields, Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance, Current Electricity | 16 |
| Units III–IV | Moving Charges and Magnetism, Magnetism and Matter, Electromagnetic Induction, Alternating Current | 17 |
| Units V–VI | Electromagnetic Waves, Ray Optics and Optical Instruments, Wave Optics | 18 |
| Units VII–VIII | Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Atoms, Nuclei | 12 |
| Unit IX | Semiconductor Electronics: Materials, Devices and Simple Circuits | 7 |
| Total | 14 Chapters | 70 Marks |
NCERT Class 12 Physics covers 14 chapters across Physics Part I and Part II, from electrostatics and magnetism to optics, nuclear physics and semiconductor electronics. For CBSE students, the textbooks should be studied alongside the official 2026-27 syllabus and examination requirements. Students preparing for JEE Main or NEET can also use NCERT to strengthen their understanding of core Physics concepts, followed by additional numerical and exam-specific practice.
