Essay on Kannada Rajyotsava Celebration in School

Kannada Rajyotsava is one of the most colorful and joyful celebrations in our school. Every year on November 1st, our campus turns into a sea of red and yellow, the colors of Karnataka. From early morning, students and teachers come dressed in traditional Kannada attire. The whole school looks bright and festive.

The day begins with the hoisting of the Karnataka flag and everyone sings the Naada Geethe “Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate.” It gives us goosebumps and fills our hearts with pride. Our principal gives an inspiring speech about the importance of Kannada language and unity among Kannadigas.

After that, the real celebration starts. There are folk dances like Dollu Kunita and Kamsale, dramas based on famous Kannada kings and poets, and melodious Kannada songs sung by students. Some students also recite poems written by Kuvempu and Bendre. Our art club decorates the school walls with drawings of Karnataka’s famous monuments like Mysore Palace and Hampi.

We even have a small food stall serving traditional Karnataka dishes such as Ragi Mudde, Neer Dosa, and Mysore Pak, which everyone enjoys. At the end of the program, the best performers get prizes, and all of us sing “Jaya Karnataka” together.

Kannada Rajyotsava in our school is a day that connects us to our roots, fills us with pride, and reminds us that speaking Kannada is a matter of honor.
