BDS Cut Off 2026 for SC, OBC, ST and General categories is important for students who want admission to Bachelor of Dental Surgery through NEET UG. BDS is one of the top choices for medical aspirants after MBBS. To get admission to a government dental college, students must qualify NEET and take part in the counselling process.
The NEET BDS cutoff is the minimum score or rank needed for admission to dental colleges. It is different for each category, such as General, OBC, SC and ST. General category students usually need the 50th percentile to qualify NEET, while OBC, SC and ST students need the 40th percentile. However, qualifying NEET does not guarantee a government BDS seat. Students need a good NEET score and rank to secure admission in top government dental colleges.
The BDS cutoff for NEET 2026 will be released after the NEET result and counselling rounds. The National Testing Agency releases the qualifying cutoff, while MCC and state counselling authorities release the admission cutoff for government colleges. MCC conducts counselling for All India Quota seats, and state authorities conduct counselling for state quota seats.
Students should check previous year BDS cutoffs to understand the expected marks and ranks for 2026. The cutoff may change every year because of exam difficulty, number of students, total BDS seats, category reservation, college demand and counselling round. Government dental colleges usually have higher competition because of lower fees and good academic value.

BDS cutoff means the minimum NEET score or rank required for admission to a dental college. There are two types of cutoffs:
| Type of Cutoff | Meaning |
| NEET qualifying cutoff | Minimum marks needed to qualify NEET |
| NEET admission cutoff | Marks or rank needed to get a BDS seat in a college |
The qualifying cutoff only makes a student eligible for counselling. It does not guarantee admission. To get a seat in a government dental college, students usually need a much higher score than the qualifying cutoff.
