One day, he decided to cook some vegetables for dinner. He chopped them up, put them in a pot on the stove, and turned on the heat. Satisfied that the vegetables were cooking, he stepped outside to clean his bicycle, completely forgetting about the food on the stove.
After a while, the neighbor called out, saying something was burning. My uncle, startled, rushed back to the kitchen, only to find the pot smoking and the vegetables almost burnt. In a panic, he grabbed the first bottle of oil he could find and poured it over the vegetables, hoping to save them.
Unfortunately, in his haste, he didn't realize that he had grabbed machine oil instead of cooking oil. The moment he added it, the kitchen filled with an awful smell, and the vegetables were ruined beyond recognition.
When my aunt returned and heard about the incident, she couldn't help but laugh. From that day on, she made sure to leave detailed instructions for my uncle whenever she went out, and my uncle learned to double-check the bottle before adding anything to his cooking
Mr. Gressler and his companies are the heart and spirit of the chapter. Mr. Gressler and the author's dialogue is at the centre of the novel. Mr. Gressler worked as a shoemaker in London for many years. Apart from the name Gressler brothers, the store had no signage.
He used to exclusively produce shoes on demand. Mr. Gressler was so engrossed in the craft of shoemaking that he rarely communicated with customers. The Gressler brothers' boots were of exceptional quality.
Mr. Gressler's difficult circumstances are also mentioned in the novel. He also noted how he was losing business to large corporations that relied solely on intensive advertising to get clients. The author used to buy boots in quantity because he thought they were of superior quality, according to the narrative.
When the author returned to the business, he learned that Mr. Gressler's elder brother had died, and he purchased many pairs of shoes from him before departing for Europe. Mr. Gressler laboured day and night to give superior quality products to his consumers, but he was unable to outlast the competition in the end. Despite his efforts, he perished from malnutrition.

Mr. Gessler was a brilliant bootmaker, but a terrible businessman, the young Englishman pondered. Mr. Gessler, he added, would not let anybody else touch his boots until they were ready. When he receives an order, it takes him a long time to complete. People aren't going to wait this long. As a result, he had lost everyone and was forced to sit. No one in London, according to the author, was as perfect or created finer boots than Mr. Gessler. In this age of competition, he never promoted, which led to his demise, despite the fact that he had the talent of good bootmaker.
