Writing

Question 1 (i). Make a list of the trees Mr. Wonka mentions. Where do these trees grow? Write a short paragraph about two or three of them.

Answer:

Mr. Wonka talks about Douglas fir, Oak, Cedar, and Bristlecone pine.

  • Douglas Fir: These tall trees grow in Canada and the United States, especially near the coast. Their wood is very useful.
  • Oak: Oaks are strong trees found in many countries. They give acorns, and their wood is used for furniture.
  • Bristlecone Pine: These are some of the oldest trees on Earth. Some of them are over 4000 years old and are found in the mountains of the U.S.

Question 1 (ii). Name some large trees commonly found in your area. Write two or three sentences about them.

Answer:

  • Neem Tree: There is a neem tree near my house which is more than 50 years old. Its leaves are bitter but have medicinal uses.
  • Peepal Tree: People worship the Peepal tree. Birds sit on its branches and make nests.
  • Banyan Tree: A huge banyan tree near the school gives shade to everyone. Its hanging roots look amazing.

Question 2. Find out something interesting about age or growing old and write a paragraph.

Answer:
Every living thing has a different age limit. For example, some insects live only for a few days, while turtles can live for more than 100 years. The age of a tree can be found by counting the rings inside its trunk. People in India have a younger population compared to countries like Japan, where most people are elderly. This shows how age affects not just individuals but also the whole society.

NCERT Solutions For Class 7 English Honeycomb Chapter 7 Summary

NCERT English Class 7 Chapter 7 Roald Dahl's story The Invention of Vita-Wonk is a fascinating one. In truth, this narrative is based on his work "Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator," which he wrote. This narrative begins with Mr. Willy Wonk, an inventor who produced Wonka Vita, a substance that makes people younger. However, everything has a bad side effect, and Wonka Vite is so powerful that it can even make individuals vanish by turning their age into a negative number. As a result of this creation, a person's age is reduced to minus 87, implying that he must wait another 87 years to resurrect.

After collecting all these he mixed them all and boiled them, which turned like a black liquid and he tested it on a 20-year-old person, then the person became a 75-year-old person, this means Mr. Wonka successfully invented a drink to make people grow old instantly.

The chapter made me imagine how amazing and crazy science can be when mixed with creativity. It also shows that curiosity and experiments can lead to surprising results. For me, this story was not just entertaining but also inspiring because it tells us to think differently and look beyond ordinary ideas.

So, this was the explanation of NCERT Class 7 English Chapter 7 - The Invention of Vita Wonk. All the chapters of Honeycomb’s explanation with well-defined solutions are available on INFINITY LEARN.

NCERT Solutions For Class 7 English Honeycomb Chapter 7 FAQs

According to Chapter 7 of Class 7 English Honeycomb, what did Mr. Willy Wonk do to counteract the effects of Wonka Vita?

Following this incident, Mr. Willy Wonk set out to produce a drink that would make people grow older in order to counterbalance the effects of Wonka Vita, so he took the great glass elevator throughout the world in quest of the world's oldest living individuals. He had a 168-year-old Russian farmer remove his toenail and gather sap from a 4,000-year-old Bristlecone pine tree. He then gathered a 200-year-old daughter's egg and a 51-year-old horse's narrative.

According to Chapter 7 of Class 7 English Honeycomb, how did Mr. Wonka invent a drink that causes people to age instantly?

He took a 36-year-old cat's whiskers, as well as a flea from the cat, a 270-year-old rat's tail, Grimalkin's black teeth, and the knucklebones of a 700-year-old cat named Alou. Mr. Wonka collected all of these, combined them, and cooked them, yielding a dark liquid that he tested on a 20-year-old who then became a 75-year-old, showing that he had succeeded in producing a drink that could make people grow older.
